April 24, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA, and Singapore) - Robin Hu, the Asia Vice Chairman of global investment firm Temasek, and Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Timor Leste have been tapped as Chair Asia, the Milken Institute. Hu brings a breadth of leadership experience in both public and private sectors, including his previous tenure as the CEO of South China Morning Post, and his current chairmanship at Constellar Holdings, and Mandai Nature.
In his role as Chair Asia, Hu will lead the operation of Milken Institute’s Singapore-based Asia headquarters with a focus on bolstering the Institute’s presence in Asia and will play a key role in propelling our next phase of growth and expansion in the region.
“Robin possesses a unique talent and range of experience having lived and run businesses throughout Asia that will prove invaluable as we develop our future strategy in Asia,” said John Hunter, Milken Institute Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. “His leadership skills and decades of relationship-building will bring valuable insights to our future engagement opportunities and expansion in the region.”
Laura Deal Lacey, who has been Executive Director of the Milken Institute Asia Center since its founding in 2013, will expand her responsibilities in a new role as Executive Director, Global Markets. In this new role, Lacey will continue to lead the Asia Center, and the execution of our marque Asia Summit, which will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary in September, as well as lead the expansion of the Milken Institute into Latin America. Asia Center advisory board Chair, Ambassador Curtis Chin, steps into a new dual role serving as both Chair Asia Fellows and Senior Advisor, Global Markets.
