Prominent industry executive John Penotti has produced over 45 films since his start working with legendary director Sidney Lumet (Network, Dog Day Afternoon). After founding Ivanhoe Pictures—an international local-language content company—in 2013, Penotti was hand-picked to serve as president of the U.S. independent production company Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and in 2017 officially merged both entities to form the parent company SK Global. Penotti has established a number of key Ivanhoe partnerships to produce local-language films in China, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Latin America and Indonesia. SK Global is currently in production on Thai Cave Rescue, a limited series for Netflix telling the extraordinary true story of the Tham Luang cave rescue of 13 children and their coach, to air in 2022. SKG recently produced Palmer, starring Justin Timberlake, which premiered on Apple TV+ this past winter. Also of note is Hell or High Water, 2017 nominee for the Academy Award for Best Picture, and the global blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians, which now one of the highest grossing romantic comedies of all time. SKG’s latest release, India Sweets and Spices, will be released in US theaters on November 19, 2021.
