Sue Brake joined the Future Fund in June 2019 as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Strategy and became the Chief Investment Officer in 2020. As Chief Investment Officer, Sue leads a multi-disciplinary Investment team, responsible for investing and growing over A$220 billion in funds under management on behalf of the Australian people. In particular, Sue focusses on the Future Fund’s total portfolio approach which is based on one team working together to construct the best overall portfolio. Sue’s primary responsibility is the long run investment performance of the funds relative to their mandates. She is also responsible for earning and retaining the trust and respect of the Government, Parliament and the investment community. Sue joined the Future Fund from Willis Towers Watson where she was Head of Strategic Advisory. Prior to this, Sue worked as a Senior Investment Strategist at NZ Super Fund. Sue is also an external expert for the International Monetary Fund on strategic asset allocation and portfolio risk management for Sovereign Wealth Funds.
