As Country Manager for IFC, Mr. Marquier manages IFC’s hub office in Singapore, making the most of its resources to serve all Asia and Pacific sub-regions. With Regional Investment and Advisory teams, he coordinates IFC’s business development efforts with Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam based companies to drive cross-border activities and mobilization, which are core to IFC’s Creating Markets strategy. Mr. Marquier also promotes and enables knowledge sharing events for the benefit of IFC’s clients and partners, in close collaboration with World Bank/MIGA colleagues, the Singaporean government and other local and regional development partners. Most recently, Mr. Nicolas Marquier was the Adviser to two successive IFC CEOs during formative times for the institution. In this role, he contributed to the development and implementation of IFC’s strategy, led organizational changes, helped address advisory and investment project related issues and developed strong relationships with World Bank and MIGA colleagues as well as with clients and development partners. Prior to that, Mr. Marquier worked in the Finance team and the Strategy & Analytics team, where he led the implementation of efficiency measures and developed the analytical capacity of these functions in support of IFC management decision making. Before joining IFC, Mr. Marquier worked as a Management Consultant at Mercer and Capgemini on a variety of strategic and business transformation projects, working with clients across Europe, Middle East and Asia in multiple industries, including financial services.
