Sarah Murdoch

Co-Chair and Global Ambassador, Murdoch Children's Research Institute

Sarah Murdoch had a successful career in fashion & television as host and producer of highly rated & awarded television programs in Australia through her company, Room 329 Productions. Sarah’s decades of philanthropic work focusses on children, education, medical research & the arts. Sarah is Co-Chair & Global Ambassador of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) & Founding Chair of the Global Advisory Board. MCRI is in the top three child health research institutes globally which impacts millions of children and their families. As Patron of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Australia over 18 years Sarah increased funding and received the Inaugural Advocacy for Breast Cancer Research Award and the Honorary Award for Extraordinary Service. Sarah has supported The Australian Ballet since 2004 as Deputy Chair of the board and Founding Chair of the Ambassador Program. She was awarded an Honorary Life Membership for her service and is President of its Global Network. Sarah’s board appointments have included New York’s Public Theater, Founding Chair of its young patron program, the Australian Research Alliance for Children & Youth, Global Access Partners Taskforce on Early Childhood Education, Harvard-Westlake School, Carlthorp School & Global Council member of American Ballet Theater. Sarah holds an MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2020, Sarah announced the establishment of the MCRI Sarah and Lachlan Endowed Fellowship. This Fellowship will make a meaningful difference to future generations of researchers.
