Hao Gao is the Associate Dean of the Institute of Philanthropy at Tsinghua University and Director of the Research Center for Global Family Business and Associate Director of the Research Center for Green Finance at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He also holds the position of Visiting Professor and Temasek Fellow at Singapore’s Wealth Management Institute (WMI). Gao’s notable roles include being a member of WEF’s Global Future Councils, a council member of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce’s Thinktank, and the Public Policy Chair of the STEP China Committee. Gao is also the Editor of the Wealth Management Journal and Editor-in-Chief of the Family Governance and Wealth Management Series. His research focuses on family business, wealth management, corporate finance, philanthropy, and green finance. He has published seven books and over 200 papers, including ten cases in the Harvard Business School Case Collection. His research has been supported by grants from the People’s Bank of China, various Chinese ministries, and international institutions like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UBS, and HSBC. He has received multiple awards, including the China Society for Private-Sector Economy Best Research Award and the Lixiang Mao Family Business Research Award. Gao advises Chinese and international government bodies and is featured in prominent media outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg, and The Economist. He holds degrees from Tsinghua University and Peking University and the Harvard Business School Corporate Director Certificate.
