Lei Zhang is the Founder and Chairman of Hillhouse, one of the largest private investment platforms in Asia-Pacific, focused on investments in the consumer, industrials, healthcare, renewables, and business services sectors. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Renmin University and an M.B.A. and M.A. from Yale University, where he later served on the Yale Board of Trustees. Mr. Zhang was also a member of the Governing Board of Yale-NUS College and a founding Trustee of the United World College Southeast Asia Foundation. Prior to founding Hillhouse, Mr. Zhang worked with Virginia-based investment firm EMM as a research analyst for the Yale Endowment and for the New York Stock Exchange. Lei currently serves as an advisor to the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, the Chairman of the Yale Asia Development Council, and a global co-chair of the Yale “For Humanity” campaign. He is a member of the Board of Directors for FCLT Global, an organization of asset owners and companies focused on long-term growth and decision-making.
