Nomin Chinbat

Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth and Member of Parliament, Government of Mongolia

Ms. Nomin Chinbat is a current Member of Parliament and Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth. Appointed to the position in 2021, she has been a key figure in promoting Mongolia's rich cultural heritage, advancing sports initiatives, fostering tourism growth, and supporting youth empowerment. As Mongolian Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, Nomin is responsible for safeguarding the country’s nomadic heritage, supporting the economic success of Mongolia’s burgeoning creative industries sector, and strengthening bi-lateral cultural ties with friends old and new the world over. Under Nomin’s leadership, the Ministry of Culture has developed a groundbreaking Cultural and Creative Industries Policy, which sets out the significant contribution this sector can make to the Government’s broader Vision 2050 development plan. Prior to entering government, Nomin worked in the hospitality sector, and was in the vanguard of introducing global standards of hospitality in a post-Soviet state. Her hotel, Terelj Hotel Ulaanbaatar, is not only a favorite among tourists but also the largest employer and taxpayer in its locality. Nomin also has extensive experience in the entertainment industry. In 2009, she created MongolTV with a vision to educate and enlighten the public with nonpartisan information.
