Winnie Wu is Co-head of China Equity Research, Chief China Equity Strategist and Head of APAC Financial Institutions Research. She joined Merrill Lynch in August 2005, and has primary coverage on China strategy, Hong Kong/China banks, and also coordinates the APAC regional financial institutions research. Wu and her team have consistently ranked in the Institutional Investor All-Asia and All-China Surveys since 2008. She was the top-voted Asia bank analyst in Institutional Investor All-Asia Surveys for four consecutive years from 2013 to 2016, and top-three Asia strategist for 2023 and 2024. Previously, Wu worked for A.T. Kearney management consulting in Greater China, where she advised Chinese banks, government and corporate clients across a variety of industries. Wu received her MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and her Bachelor’s degree from Peking University.
