Michelle Moore is author of “Rural Renaissance” and CEO of Groundswell, a 501(c)(3) that builds community power by cutting electricity bills in half with local solar, energy storage, and energy efficiency projects that make communities more resilient. Groundswell currently serves more than 6,500 families in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Heartland regions with more than $3 million per year in clean energy savings, growing to a projected 30,000 families served by 2030. An entrepreneur and former White House official with roots in rural Georgia, Michelle is a relentless agent for change. Her accomplishments range from cutting the government’s energy bill by $11 billion and deploying 3.2 Gigawatts of new renewable energy, to cutting federal infrastructure project permitting timelines in half. Michelle's work is rooted in her faith and the commandment to "love your neighbor as yourself”. She serves on the Boards of the Interdenominational Theological Center and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
