Deborah Bade Horn DO, MPH, MFOMA is Medical Director of the Center for Obesity Medicine and Metabolic Performance and clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School. She is the Program Director for the Allison Family Foundation Fellowship in Clinical Obesity Medicine and Metabolism. Dr. Horn is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, a past-president of the Obesity Medicine Association, a board of trustee for the Obesity Action Coalition, and a member of the clinical care committee for World Obesity Dr. Horn serves as co-lead on the Obesity Medicine Education Collaborative, working to bring obesity education to our early clinicians. She received the Steelman-Seim Educator Award for Excellent in Academics 2019, Health Care Provider of the Year by the Obesity Action Coalition in 2016, the Raymond Dietz Meritorious Service Award from the OMA, and named Obesity Medicine Physician of the Year in 2011. Her efforts include congressional visits to promote the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA), meetings with CMS/Surgeon General, delegate briefings at the Democratic/Republican National Conventions, and sharing the state of obesity care in the US globally.
