Ertharin Cousin serves the Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CCGA) as a Distinguished Global Fellow leading research and advocacy primarily in the areas of Food Security and Nutrition. Cousin co-chaired the CCGA 2019 publication, “From Scarcity to Security: Managing Water for a Nutritious Food Future”. During her recent tenure at Stanford University as the Payne Distinguished Lecturer in Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, she initiated and led a research project exploring a theory of change for reducing malnutrition in poor and underserved communities (globally and domestically) through investment in market-based innovation solutions including agtech and foodtech. Her research led to the creation of a new non-profit entity, Food Systems Future(FSF). Cousin functions as the CEO and President of FSF. The project research partners include the Stanford Center on Food Security and Environment, the World Economic Forum, and the World Food Programme.
