Jennie Chin Hansen is the immediate past CEO of the American Geriatrics Society the largest national inter-professional membership organization of physicians (primarily geriatricians), geriatrics nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other health professionals committed to the care of older adults with care complexity. She currently serves as Board Chair of the SCAN Foundation and committee chair of Quality and Member Experience of the SCAN Health Plan, chair of governance of both the Altarum Institute and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). She is also a member of the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) Geriatric Measures committee. Within the past 10 months, she has also been acknowledged with three major career awards from Justice in Aging, UCSF Alumni Award in the category of Audacious, and a lifetime achievement award from the National Council on Aging. She is a graduate of Boston College (including an honorary doctorate) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where she received the School of Nursing distinguished graduate award and the 100 Leaders Wall of Fame at the University’s centennial celebration.
