John Rigg is a Senior Advisor for the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he led the ReImagine HHS initiative "Accelerate Clinical Innovation" from February 2018 to October 2019. A career civil servant since 2010, he has served HHS in diverse capacities, including as the Director of the Office of Policy Analysis at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) from 2012 to 2017. Prior to his work at HRSA, he was a Senior Medicare Analyst at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of Legislation. While at CMS, John also had significant policy responsibilities over Medicare outpatient drug policy. Recently, John has served an extensive detail as a Senior Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff at the Indian Health Service, and spent 2017 as a fellow with the White House Leadership Development Program. Prior to his federal service, John worked as Vice President for Federal Regulatory Affairs in the Washington DC office of the California Hospital Association. He has a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Health Administration with a focus on Health Policy from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University.
