Katherine is a Program Officer in the Development Policy and Finance group at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She manages an investment portfolio focused on development finance and policy and advises Foundation program teams on strategies and platforms to mobilize external capital. For the past 6 months, she has been heavily engaged on financing strategies for the Foundation's work with global partners to ensure access to COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics in developing countries. She was a Senior Program Officer in the Finance Investment and Trade group at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a US government agency. At MCC, she led design and implementation of private sector development programs for MCC's compacts in Niger, Benin, and Zambia, while managing co-financing partnerships with foundations and international finance institutions. She began her career in the leadership development program at Bridgewater Associates, a hedge fund, where she served as chief-of-staff to Bridgewater's President and Co-CEO. She has an MBA with honors from the Wharton MBA for Executives Program and a B.A. in Economics cum laude with honors from Harvard College.
