Under Rod’s leadership, Providence St. Joseph Health is transforming health care for the future through digital innovation, genomics and scientific wellness, population health, whole person care, and outreach to the poor and vulnerable. In addition, mental health is a top for priority for Providence St. Joseph Health, which contributed $100 million to establish an independent foundation focused on improving the mental health and wellness of communities. In 2017, Modern Healthcare named him the second most influential person in health care and one of 12 disruptors. He is chair elect of the American Hospital Association (AHA) and immediate past chair of the board of trustees for the Catholic Health Association. He received his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from Boston University.
