Dr. Steiner is currently the Senior Vice President, Food Initiative at the Rockefeller Foundation leading multi-year initiatives to advance a more nourishing and sustainable food system. Previously he was a Senior Director at the Omidyar Network where he worked across strategic initiatives and with the board to build a best in class learning organization. Roy also served for nearly a decade at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was the Deputy Director and Founding Member of the Agricultural Development Initiative in the foundation's Global Development Program. He has a PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell University and two degrees from MIT.
