Kelly Close founded Close Concerns in 2002 with the mission of making everyone smarter about diabetes. Kelly and her team write and publish about three million words a year on diabetes, pre-diabetes, obesity, and digital health, and her online publication, Closer Look, reaches nearly 10,000 professionals daily. Kelly's dedication to her work is informed by her personal experiences, as she has had diabetes for 30+ years. Kelly also chairs The diaTribe Foundation, a national nonprofit organization for diabetes, and she founded diaTribe.org, which began in 2006 as a free educational resource. Its online stories about diabetes and health care reach nearly 150,000 people with diabetes each week, and nearly 2 million people visit its website each year. Kelly previously worked on Wall Street and at McKinsey & Company, and she is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Business School. She and husband and their three children live in San Francisco and are hosts of the discussion series CPS Lectures.
