Amanda Grigg, PhD, serves as the Director of the Forum for Children’s Well-Being at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. In this capacity, she spearheads the Forum's mission to advance the mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being of youth. Her leadership involves convening workshops and cultivating communities of practice that transcend disciplinary boundaries, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical, scalable implementation. Amanda's work places a strong emphasis on issues of equity and amplifying youth voices and lived experiences, as exemplified by the Forum's 2023 Youth Lived Experience Workshop. Prior to her role at the National Academies, Amanda directed community engagement and research impact programs for the American Political Science Association, where she co-founded and co-directed the Institute for Civically Engaged Research. Amanda's educational background includes a BA in Political Science and Women's Studies from the University of Michigan, and an MA and PhD in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research expertise spans the impact of health, social welfare, and criminal justice policies on marginalized and under-resourced communities.
