Drew Maloney is President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Investment Council (AIC), an advocacy and research organization representing the private equity and credit industry in Washington. As CEO, he has doubled AIC’s membership and budget during his tenure. He has also led strategic advocacy campaigns to ensure policymakers appreciate private equity’s essential role across America by directly employing 12 million Americans and primarily investing in small businesses. He has regularly been named to the Washingtonian’s list of the most influential people shaping public policy. Maloney served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury. He worked on a range of major issues including the passage of the tax reform law, financial services reform, CFIUS, trade policy, and sanctions. Prior to Treasury, he was a corporate officer and VP of Government and External Affairs for Hess Corporation. Maloney has also served as a senior advisor to several Republican presidential campaigns. He holds a bachelor's degree from Randolph-Macon College and a J.D. from Catholic University. Maloney is on the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in the Smithsonian Institution and serves on the board of directors for the Meridian International Center. Maloney is also a board member at Inframark, a water infrastructure company.
