Anita Everett

Dr. Anita Everett is the Director of the Center for Mental Health Services within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, she leads federal efforts to improve the nation’s mental health service systems through programs that increase access to quality treatment and recovery support for persons with, or at risk for, mental illnesses. Dr. Everett is a past president of the American Psychiatric Association, Maryland Psychiatric Society and the American Association of Community Psychiatry and has received commendation for her work in national healthcare reform and advocacy.
