Marc Boutin is a recognized leader in patient engagement, healthcare advocacy, and organizational transformation, with a proven track record of driving significant change across the healthcare sector. As the former Global Head of Patient Engagement at Novartis, Marc built and led an enterprise-wide patient engagement function that integrated patient insights across six therapeutic areas. His leadership of a global team of over 200 professionals delivered measurable business outcomes, including over $200 million in cost savings, reduced protocol amendments, accelerated development timelines, and nearly $1 billion in additional net present value per asset. In 2023, Marc was recognized as one of Novartis' top 100 leaders. Prior to Novartis, Marc served as CEO of the National Health Council, where he led groundbreaking advocacy and policy initiatives that expanded access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Under his leadership, the Council became a national leader in patient-centered health policy, uniting patient organizations, healthcare providers, and industry stakeholders to shape healthcare reform at the highest levels. Earlier in his career, Marc held senior leadership roles at the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, and the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards. He also practiced civil rights litigation and held academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine, bringing a multifaceted approach to leadership in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors.
