A.J. Murphy is a managing director and head of Global Capital Markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, she leads a team of Capital Markets professionals across Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and origination of Corporate Derivatives and FX globally. Previously she was head of Global Leveraged Finance responsible for the origination, structuring, and syndication of loan and bond financings in the non‐investment grade coverage area. Prior to rejoining the firm in 2015, Murphy was a partner at Goldman Sachs where she served as co-head of leveraged finance in the Americas. Murphy first joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2009 as head of Leveraged Loan Capital Markets and Leveraged Loan Primary Sales. She was named co‐head of Americas Leveraged Finance Capital Markets in 2011 before assuming the role of co‐head of Global Leveraged Finance later that year. Murphy was selected by Investment Dealers’ Digest in 2011 as one of the “40 under 40” bankers who has emerged as leaders on Wall Street by virtue of the kind, scale, and scope of their achievements and through their innovative contributions to finance. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College.
