Alex Witt anchors MSNBC's "Weekends with Alex Witt" and is a correspondent for NBC News. Since joining the networks in 1999, Witt has hosted broadcasts across dayside and primetime platforms. She has reported from the field during presidential campaigns and overseas. In the wake of the attacks of September 11, 2001, she broadcast from the World Trade Center and continues to follow the unrest in the Middle East and the refugee crisis, as well as Capitol Hill and presidential politics. She also worked as a consultant on the final season of Aaron Sorkin's HBO series "The Newsroom." She is passionate about equality for women, education issues, and gun control. Alex is a film and theater enthusiast and fulfills her daredevil streak while downhill skiing and climbing mountains against the advice of her two children. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
