Brett Winton has directed research at ARK Invest, an asset manager focused purely on disruptive innovation, since its 2014 inception. He oversees all forecasts and underwriting for the firm, now the largest actively managed ETF provider in the world. Brett spearheads ARK’s research team and cultivates its opensource ecosystem as it generates differentiated forecasts spanning the 5 major technology platforms—AI, robotics, genomics, batteries, and blockchain—sweeping across the economic landscape. He believes that robotaxis could price profitably at less than the cash cost of driving yourself, that the market for AI software will exceed the current software market by an order of magnitude before 2030, that cryptocurrencies present the most profound advance in risk structuring since the invention of the limited liability corporation, and that almost every early-stage cancer will be detectable from a vial of blood for less than $300 within 5 years. Prior to ARK he served as lead analyst in the Research on Strategic Change group at AllianceBernstein. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
