Eric Kaplan

Senior Advisor, Center for Financial Markets, Milken Institute

Eric Kaplan is currently a Senior Advisor to the Milken Institute, where he focuses on the health, sustainability, and reform of the US housing finance ecosystem. He regularly engages policymakers, industry participants, consumer advocates, nonprofits, and other stakeholders on a wide range of issues. Eric previously served as Director of the Milken Institute Center for Financial Markets Housing Finance Program. He just completed a two-year term on the CFPB Consumer Advisory Board, serving as Chair from October 2020 - September 2021. Eric currently serves as an Independent Director on the Kroll Bond Rating Agency board of directors, as an Observer on the Census Bureau/CFPB’s Opportunity Project Tech Sprint, and as Chair of the Fixed Income Investor Network RMBS Task Force. Eric brings over 28 years of housing and mortgage experience across a variety of finance, legal, policy, and operational roles, and previously served on the board of directors of the Structured Finance Association and MISMO
