Goodwin Gaw

Chairman, Managing Principal, Member of Investment Committee and Founder, Gaw Capital Partners

Goodwin Gaw is the founder and managing principal of Gaw Capital Partners, a global real estate private equity management company commanding over US$12.8 billion of assets under management. It has raised eight commingled funds targeting the Greater China and Asia Pacific regions, Vietnam and the United States since 2005, along with a pan-Asia hospitality fund, while providing a separate account service globally. Goodwin founded Downtown Properties in 1996 and serves as managing principal. He's especially interested in repositioning distressed heritage properties. This includes the renovation of the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and conversion of over 456,000 square feet of empty historical buildings, including the acclaimed Douglas Building, into hip residential lofts in downtown Los Angeles. Goodwin received a BS in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, a BS in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MS in Construction Management from Stanford University.
