Jean-Christophe Flatin currently leads Mars Edge, the newest Mars business segment dedicated to human nutrition. He also heads up Innovation, Science, and Technology for all of Mars where he leads the transversal innovation agenda and has oversight of Quality & Food Safety, Science & Regulatory Affairs, and the Mars Advanced Research Institute. He is a member of the global Mars Leadership Team. Jean-Christophe’s career with Mars spans more than two decades. He joined Mars in 1992 as a Trade Expenditures Controller for Masterfoods France. In 2000, he became CFO of EBLY and led its integration into the Mars Food business. For the next 12 years, he focused on pets, moving to Royal Canin in 2002 as Financial Integrator, Global Commercial Director, CFO, and, in 2007, Global President. While at Royal Canin, Jean-Christophe led his team to become one of the fastest-growing business units at Mars, more than doubling the business during his tenure. Lastly, Jean-Christophe was President of Mars Global Chocolate, responsible for setting the global agenda, pursuing talent development, and prioritizing strategies to deliver continued Chocolate growth around the world. Jean-Christophe has two sons, Thibault and Guillaume with his wife Nadia, to whom he’s been married for over 20 years. He enjoys reading novels and an active lifestyle which includes skiing, tennis, surfing, and competing in semi-marathons.
