Liz Habib

Liz Habib is a two-time American Emmy award-winning journalist. Habib spent 16 accomplished years at KTTV in Los Angeles as the primary sports anchor, reporting on a broad range of topics and breaking news events. She is a highly regarded sports journalist and a contributor to national and international media, including CNN, Fox Sports, Fox News, and NPR. Habib’s groundbreaking role as the first woman to hold the position of main sports anchor at a TV station in Los Angeles has earned critical acclaim. Her contributions to the field have earned numerous accolades including five Emmy nominations. During her start, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English writing from the University of Pittsburgh. Habib re-entered academia in 2021 to share her 33 years of industry knowledge with aspiring journalists and early-career professionals at Syracuse University. As a professor, she teaches courses in broadcast and digital journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
