Mario Mesquita is a senior partner and the institutional relations director at Brasil Plural. He is the company's chief economist and heads both the economics and research departments. In addition, he is responsible for the company's relationships with governments and government agencies, regulatory and credit rating bureaus, and partners in the financial and capital markets. Mesquita has served as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, chief economist at ABN AMRO Brazil, economics director at FEBRABAN, and an economist at the International Monetary Fund. He holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Oxford.
