Simone manages grantmaking across the foundations and other charitable giving programs under the EJF Philanthropies umbrella. Her current focus is on using media impact campaigns as a tool for effective philanthropy. Previously, Simone led impact campaigns for Jonathan Safran Foer’s book,
We Are the Weather: Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast, and for Christopher Quinn’s EATING ANIMALS film, which won the Environmental Media Association’s Documentary Award while she was serving as the film’s impact producer. Simone also is a former entrepreneur, having founded and later sold an analytics company focused on analyzing trends in innovation. Simone is a recipient of the Michelson Found Animals Foundation Leader in Animal Welfare Award, and she currently serves on the boards of Media Impact Funders, The Impact Guild, and Re:wild.
