Steven is head of WorldQuant Ventures, founded by Igor Tulchinsky to invest in innovative entrepreneurs who are driving emerging technologies to bring real-world change. Steven also serves on the Board of WorldQuant Predictive, a leader in quantitative AI-based predictions for companies and other organizations. Since 2014, WorldQuant Ventures has funded over 90 startups, including Dataminr, Ample, IonQ, PsiQ, Genies, Extend, Immuta, Verge Genomics, and Skyroot. Throughout his career, Steven has been an avid user, evaluator, advisor, and investor in financial technology companies. His focus areas include data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, fintech, healthcare IT, ESG, quantum computing, and space. Steven began his career as an option specialist and market maker at Spear Leeds and Kellogg, which was acquired by Goldman Sachs in 1999. He later built proprietary trading desks at UBS, Montgomery Securities, Commerzbank, and Bank of Montreal. Steven holds a degree in Mathematical Economics from Colgate University.
