Jamie Salter is a licensing industry forerunner and authority. With nearly 30 years of success in making strategic and profitable investments in fashion, sports, home, health and wellness, celebrity and entertainment brand-related activities, Salter has executed more than $25 billion in investment deals targeting both growth companies and turnarounds. Salter’s background is steeped in consumer brands. He began his career selling sporting goods before acquiring the company Kemper Snowboards. In 1992, he co-founded the snowboard manufacturer Ride Inc. and utilized his retail experience and business acumen to grow the company into the second-largest snowboard distributor in the world. Salter subsequently co-founded Hilco Consumer Capital, a premier financial services holding company, where he led multiple acquisitions of top-grossing brands as CEO and was similarly engaged in the industry as President of GSI Commerce. As Founder, CEO, and Chairman of ABG, Salter has leveraged his expertise in mergers and acquisitions, brand management, and licensing to diversify, strengthen, scale, and rapidly expand the portfolio into new sectors and markets around the world. Under Salter’s leadership, ABG has grown from being ranked #61 on License Global’s Top 150 Licensors list to #3 in 2021 and was named “Company of the Year” by Footwear News. Salter is an active member of Mount Sinai’s Board of Directors and has been honored for his charitable efforts and various contributions to the nonprofit organization Delivering Good.
