Marc Cimino is Chief Operating Officer of Universal Music Publishing Group. He was the first hire by Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson and is her immediate support. With his leadership and guidance, UMPG surpassed one billion dollars and increased its revenue 76% since 2015. He has responsibility for UMPG’s business across the most important developing territories in the world, including China and India where UMPG is rapidly strengthening. Marc leads and manages UMPG’s music licensing deals with the biggest and most popular social content platforms worldwide, including securing first-ever deals that create entirely new revenue streams for songwriters such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Triller, Snap and more. He was instrumental in UMPG’s historic acquisition of Bob Dylan’s catalog, and the iconic signings of Bruce Springsteen, Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elvis Presley, Pearl Jam, Prince, Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Van Halen, Gucci Mane, Josh Groban, R.E.M. and more. Cimino also executive produced the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘Music Box.’ UMPG is music publisher of choice for biggest film & TV studios globally – Viacom, MGM, Lionsgate, Paramount, Disney Europe and Legendary Pictures, building upon Amazon, DreamWorks Animation, HBO, Bad Robot, NBCUniversal, Sesame Workshop, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., etc. Across commercial and public policy efforts, UMPG is instrumental leader in the fight for fair pay for songwriters.
