Mark Walter

Founder and CEO, Guggenheim Partners; Founder, TWG

Mark Walter is a businessman and philanthropist. He and his family are advocates for conservation, social equity and education. TWG owns and controls businesses in the following segments: financial services; renewable energy; sports, media and entertainment; art; eco-tourism and agriculture. Walter co-founded and is the CEO of Guggenheim Capital, LLC, a diversified financial services firm with more than $340 billion in assets under management. Mark and his wife, Kimbra, invest their wealth largely to support organizations and causes focused on social justice, equity, diversity, education and conservation. They have founded numerous social justice organizations. These include the Academy Group, Chicago Beyond and OneGoal. Walter oversees the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. Through TWF Conservation, the Walter family is active in conserving key populations of rare species and wild places around the world. Efforts include creating assurance populations, protecting rare species in their environments, restoring ecosystems and protecting wilderness areas. TWF Conservation supports important areas in North America and Africa. He received his J.D. from Northwestern University in 1985 and his BSBA degree from Creighton University in 1982. Mr. Walter lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
