Stephen Parodi, MD, is executive vice president of External Affairs, Communications, and Brand at The Permanente Federation at Kaiser Permanente and an associate executive director for The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) with responsibility for hospital operations, inpatient quality, patient safety, care of complex and special needs populations, skilled nursing facilities, home health, hospice, and advanced analytics. A practicing infectious disease specialist, Dr. Parodi led Kaiser Permanente’s COVID-19 pandemic response. Dr. Parodi leads Kaiser Permanente’s advanced care at home program. His work in hospital operations has included innovative programs such as enhanced recovery after surgery, patient blood management, observation medicine, advanced electronic health alert monitoring, and bedside multidisciplinary rounding. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and infectious disease fellowship at the UCLA Affiliated Program in Infectious Disease.
