Ari Melber

Host of “The Beat with Ari Melber”; Chief Legal Correspondent, MSNBC

Ari Melber, an Emmy Award-winning journalist, writer and attorney, is the host of “The Beat with Ari Melber,” airing nightly at 6 p.m. EST on MSNBC. Melber also serves as MSNBC’s Chief Legal Correspondent and an NBC News Legal Analyst, reporting on law and justice stories across all NBC platforms. He received a 2016 Emmy Award for his reporting on the Supreme Court. “The Beat with Ari Melber” covers news, law, politics and culture, and was nominated for a 2020 Emmy in the “Outstanding Live Interview” category. Since launching in 2017, “The Beat with Ari Melber” is now the longest-running 6 p.m. show in MSNBC’s history. Melber also leads two extended interview series for MSNBC: “Mavericks with Ari Melber,” featuring artists and cultural icons, and “The Summit Series,” featuring people at the summit of their fields. Melber’s writing has been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Politico and Reuters. Before joining MSNBC, Melber practiced First Amendment law and served as a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate.
