Brian Brooks is a partner focused on fintech, financial services, and digital asset investing at Valor Capital Group. He is best known as the former acting U.S. Comptroller of the Currency and board member of the FDIC, where he signed the first fintech and crypto bank charters, established rules for bank-fintech partnerships, and helped lead the national banking system through the first year of the Covid pandemic. He also served as CEO of Bitfury Group, chief legal officer of Coinbase, general counsel of Fannie Mae, and vice chairman of OneWest Bank. He is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School.
