Cheryl L. Evans is a Director in the Milken Institute Center for Financial Markets. She leads the Lifetime Financial Security Program. Cheryl has led content development for Pensions & Investments magazine’s educational events, and she spent almost 10 years at CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, where she worked as a Senior Investigator in their Enforcement program, was appointed to help lead the research for their Future of Finance initiative and worked as a Director in their Educational Events and Programs area. Cheryl also worked as Special Counsel at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce focusing on securities litigation, capital markets, and general litigation issues. She was a part of the Chamber’s economic crisis working group, contributed to two capital markets studies, and led a large economic study. She spent over 10 years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission working as Senior Counsel in the Division of Enforcement where she was a member of the WorldCom team. She also worked in the Divisions of Trading and Markets and Examinations. While working at the SEC, she was appointed to work as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia handling criminal matters. She also served as a Trial Attorney in the Commercial Litigation Section of the U.S. Department of Justice and was a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeal for Veteran’s Claims. Cheryl is trained in wellness and life coaching and holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and Sociology, a J.D. degree, as well as an LL.M. degree in transnational business practice.
