Jo Taylor is President and CEO of Ontario Teachers’, one of the world’s largest pension plans, with approximately C$247 billion of net assets, 80% of which are managed in house. Jo was appointed President and CEO on January 1, 2020 and is responsible for leading Ontario Teachers’ and its overall strategic direction and growth. Jo joined Ontario Teachers’ in 2012 and is a globally recognized investor, with more than 35 years of experience leading investment teams. Under his leadership, he is responsible for advancing Ontario Teachers' global effectiveness and expansion, spearheading the opening of three additional international offices, and working closely with senior colleagues to design and execute our international investment strategy. He has also been a member of the Committees for private companies and total fund allocations to review investment proposals, manage key relationships and optimize resource allocation. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers’, Jo spent more than 20 years with 3i Group plc where he held a number of senior Group Management roles. Jo graduated from London University with a BA (Honours) and later earned an MBA from Manchester Business School. He has served as the Chairman and non-executive director of many companies, including ISS, Helly Hansen, Busy Bees and Camelot (operator of the UK National Lottery).
