Mwaniki Mugo has a passion for driving financial inclusion through the development of capital markets. With over a decade of experience in policy formulation and implementation, sovereign debt management, and financial markets infrastructure development at the Central Bank of Kenya. Mwaniki has honed his skills in developing fintech solutions and enabling regulatory policies that democratize payments systems and the investment landscape in Kenya and East Africa.Mwaniki has led several initiatives in Kenya, including spearheading the implementation of the post-trade function of CBK’s central securities depository. His expertise is evidenced by his role in developing the government benchmark bond program as a member of the bond market stakeholder forum and the joint CBK, National Treasury and the World Bank Group working group.Mwaniki holds an M.S. in finance and investments, a graduate certificate in capital markets from George Washington University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Change.,As part of the IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Program, Mwaniki completed his internship with CAIS, a fintech leader that is transforming the world of alternative investing.
