Nicholas Nickols

Associate Professor-in-Residence, Radiation Oncology, UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine

Nick Nickols is a Radiation Oncologist and Associate Professor in Residence in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCLA. He graduated from the UCLA/Caltech MD/PhD program and completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at UCLA. He is a clinician-scientist focused on improving outcomes for patients with prostate cancer. His research interests include investigations into how molecular imaging can guide radiotherapy, the design and completion of multimodality trials for high risk and metastatic prostate cancer, the application of AI and machine learning to medical imaging interpretation, and several translational and laboratory-based investigations aimed to understand the molecular pathology of prostate cancer and new approaches for treatment. He is fortunate to have received outstanding mentorship thought his career. He also received a Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award that was instrumental in development of his career and fostering life-long relationships amongst a dedicated community of mission-focused bioscience researchers.
