Rich Lesser is the Global Chair of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he actively engages with CEOs, executive teams, and boards of directors around the world on critical topics including climate and sustainability, innovation, resilience, change management, and purpose. He previously served as BCG’s CEO from 2013-2021, a period of exceptional growth for the firm across all regions and practice areas. During his tenure as CEO, Rich built new units to create BCG’s digital business building, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI capabilities along with the launch of the BCG Center for Climate and Sustainability. He was named the Best CEO in America by Glassdoor in 2021.Rich currently serves as Chief Advisor to the World Economic Forum’s Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, on the leadership council of Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, as co-chair of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism, where he co-led the Just Transition workstream, and as a member of other leading organizations, including the First Movers Coalition, the Southern Communities Initiatives, and the EDISON Alliance, among others. Additionally, President Biden recently announced his intention to appoint Rich to the President’s Export Council, the U.S. government’s principal national advisory committee on international trade.
