Sophie Ruddock is the Chief Operating Officer of Multiverse, a tech startup on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training. They offer apprenticeships to a diverse pool of young adults and those looking to reskill. Multiverse works with 1000 organizations, helping them embrace digital transformation, close skills gaps and develop a diverse talent pipeline. Apprentices benefit from individualized coaching, applied learning, and a community of social, networking and leadership opportunities. Sophie founded and led Multiverse’ North America operation, launching apprenticeship programs across the Fortune 500 nationally. Her global leadership role has seen the company scale rapidly, in 2022 becoming the UK’s first EdTech unicorn. Prior to joining Multiverse, Sophie was an early pioneer of impact investment at Social Finance, bringing together business, investors and the government to generate meaningful social change and capital returns. She is passionate about social justice reform, and sits on the board of the prison coaching non-profit, Spark Inside and the Public Theater in New York.
