Tanya Barnes joined J.P. Morgan Private Capital in 2022. Alongside Osei Van Horne, Tanya co-leads the Sustainable Growth Equity platform, which leverages the global scale, sustainability expertise and data intelligence of J.P. Morgan to invest in companies that are leading the transition to a sustainable future. The team invests in private growth companies that produce measurable, science-based and commercially-driven positive sustainability outcomes. She has over 20 years of principal investing and corporate finance experience. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Tanya was a Managing Director and Head of Blackstone Impact, an investment platform that partnered with mission-driven companies and management teams whose products or services address major social and environmental challenges. Blackstone Impact aimed to deliver attractive market-rate financial returns and measurable impact by investing directly into companies alongside generalist private equity managers, impact managers and other investing businesses at Blackstone. Previously, Tanya was a Managing Director in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs where she focused on executing direct private equity investment opportunities for Principal Investment Area, and on helping to build and run the division's co-investment platform. Tanya received an A.B. from Harvard College and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. She is based out of New York, New York.
