Caroline Chung

Vice President and Chief Data Officer, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center

Dr. Chung is VP, Chief Data Officer, and Director of Data Ecosystem of the Institute for Data Science in Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is an associate professor in Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Imaging with a clinical practice focused on brain tumors and a computational imaging lab focused on leveraging quantitative imaging and modeling to enable personalized cancer treatment. Internationally, Dr. Chung leads several multidisciplinary efforts to enable high quality, quantitative data use to advance research discoveries and impact clinical care as Co-Chair of the Quantitative Imaging for Assessment of Response in Oncology Committee of International Commission no Radiation Units and Measures (ICRU) and National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) appointed committee addressing Foundational Research Gaps and Future Directions for Digital Twins. Beyond her clinical, research and administrative roles, Dr. Chung enjoys serving as an active educator and mentor. She serves as Chair of Women in Cancer-All in Cancer (http://www.womenincancer.org/), a non-profit organization that is committed to advancing cancer care by encouraging the growth, leadership and connectivity of current and future oncologists, trainees and medical researchers.
