Eric Aboaf is State Street’s vice chairman and chief financial officer. Eric is responsible for all Finance functions and M&A, as well as joint oversight for Corporate Strategy. The Finance functions that he oversees include Treasury, Controllership, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Unit Finance and Investor Relations. Eric also oversees the State Street Global Markets and Global Credit Finance Businesses in support of the client franchise. He is also responsible for Corporate Services, including both Procurement and Real Estate. In addition, Eric is a member of the Executive Committee, the company’s most senior strategy and policy-making team. Eric joined State Street in December 2016 from Citizens Financial Group where he was CFO with responsibility for all finance functions and corporate development. Prior to this role, Eric was with Citigroup for 12 years, where he served as the Global Treasurer following his role as the CFO of the institutional client group, which included the custody business. Eric earned his master’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in computer science and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in both business and engineering. Eric is the Board Chair for the New York City Urban Debate League and on the Board Executive Committee of the Boston Ballet. Eric is also a board member for Humanities New York.
