James Prince

Executive Director, The Democracy Council

James Prince is president of the Democracy Council, a leading nonprofit international development organization. In this capacity, he managed programming in many challenging areas, including Afghanistan, Belarus, Bosnia, Cuba, Guatemala, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Palestinian Authority, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Syria, Ukraine, and Timor Leste. In 2022, Jim helped organize a conference to enhance regional integration in the MENA region convened by the Atlantic Council, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco, and attended by representatives from the U.S., Israel, and seven Arab countries. Jim was a Non-resident Fellow with Trends Research and Advisory, a New Generation Fellow with the American Assembly, and an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University. He participated in multinational missions in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Guatemala, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, and South Africa. Jim is a frequent media commentator and author, with 40 articles published in national and international publications. Jim served on the independent commission investigating corruption in the LAPD and the UCLA Government Relations Advocacy Committee. He also testified in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Jim was a Director with PWC and a senior professional staff member for the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere. He received a B.A. from UCLA and an M.A. from George Washington University.
