Janine Sherman Barrois is an award-winning writer and showrunner at Warner Bros. where she and her company, Folding Chair Productions, are under an overall deal to create and produce series. Her work includes Claws, Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker, The Kings of Napa, Criminal Minds, ER and more. She recently executive produced the Tribeca documentary Hargrove and the highly anticipated upcoming Apple TV+ series The Big Cigar,” based on the true story of Black Panthers’ Huey P. Newton’s escape from the FBI clutches under the guise of a fake movie production with help from the late legendary Hollywood producer Bert Schneider. She lives in Los Angeles and is active in the WGA and in the contemporary art world, serving on the Board of Advisors at the Hammer Museum.
