As First Partner of California, Jennifer Siebel Newsom is an influential advocate and partner to women, moms, and families through her California for ALL Women and California for ALL Kids initiatives. In 2019, Jennifer launched #EqualPayCA, a statewide campaign to close the gender pay gap and normalize pay equity. In partnership with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Jennifer also successfully expanded access to nutritious and locally-sourced meals in schools by launching California’s first-ever farm to school grant program, aptly named California Farm to School. Jennifer serves as honorary chair of the California Volunteers Commission and co-chair of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Physical Fitness and Mental Well-Being. Jennifer is also the co-founder of the California Partners Project. Jennifer is also an award-winning documentary filmmaker and thought leader on gender equity, and has written, directed, and produced the critically-acclaimed documentaries Miss Representation, The Mask You Live In, The Great American Lie, and Fair Play. As a result of Miss Representation’s impact, Jennifer founded The Representation Project, which tackles sexism in media and has spearheaded successful campaigns seen by millions around the world, including #AskHerMore and #NotBuyingIt.Jennifer is married to Governor Gavin Newsom and is the mother of their four young children.
